Today, my sorority, Kappa Delta, is welcoming a new class of members to our chapter. Their arrival has me reflecting on a partnership that began several years ago and, coincidentally, followed me to UNC.
For the past three years, Girl Scouts have supported Diapers for a Difference by collecting diapers as part of their cookie drives. Forming that partnership not only boosted donations, it gave me the opportunity to inspire young girls to make a difference in the effort to end diaper need.
When I came to UNC and joined Kappa Delta, I discovered an unexpected connection: Girl Scouts is one of KD’s philanthropic partners! Mentoring local troops has been one of their longstanding traditions.
Today, this connection feels especially meaningful.
The Girl Scouts have been an important partner in my work to help address diaper need. I’m excited that my journey at UNC has led me to a group that shares my commitment to service and provides me with another opportunity to mentor and support young girls.
Here’s to the newest class of KD sisters and to all the ways we’ll continue to make a difference together! Always believe in the power of partnership!
